You can see the version number at the top of the screen in Payback. Version numbers increase like this;
20097.01
7.02
7.03
7.04 etc...
Then in a new tax year we increase the major version number, like this;
20108.01
8.02
8.03 etc..
So for example, 7.02 is a higher version number than 7.01
Version 8.01 onwards will automatically check that you're running the latest version when you start up Payback. If you're not, you will be prompted to download and install the latest version.
It may be the case that you received upgrade instructions or a registration email telling you to make sure you're running a certain version, but the one you've downloaded is a higher version. This could happen when we release an update in the time between sending you the email and you doing the download. If you download and install the higher version number, then this is correct.
If you want to be sure that you're running the latest version, then go to this page:
http://www.payback.ie/support.aspx where the latest version number is listed.
